Glad to have you back!

Share

ECAB is a volunteer, community-based structure, collaborating actively with national Community Advisory Boards in Europe and other groups sharing our philosophy in other geographical areas.

80 % of ECAB members are living with HIV, working together to end the epidemic by advancing research on HIV/AIDS, broadening access to treatment, and training/mentoring new HIV/AIDS advocates.

ECAB aims to promote the harmonisation of the best available clinical practices, standards of care and access to the latest and best avilable therapies and diagnostic tools throughout Europe, with a particular regard to Central and Eastern Europe.

If you are living with HIV or AIDS in Europe find out how to become a member.

  • There is little evidence that HIV can be transferred by casual exposure, as might occur in a household setting. For example, unless there are open sores or blood in the mouth, kissing is generally considered not to be a risk factor for transmitting HIV. This is because saliva, in contrast to genital secretions, has been shown to contain very little HIV.
